About Me

Michael Evans is the author of over a dozen sci-fi thriller novels, a serial founder of media and creator economy tech companies, a Harvard alum, and is obsessed with experiencing, studying, and creating stories that empower others to create better futures.

His stories are genre-bending and feature flawed, relatable characters in high-stakes situations with tech-gone-wrong in the near future.

When not writing, Michael can be found running, hiking, playing basketball, and embarking on real-life thrilling adventures. Ice cream and sunsets are some of his favorites, but he will settle for a warm blanket and a cozy book on a winter day.

Here’s the TLDR of My Story:

I grew up in Long Island, New York. My parents divorced when I was 7 years old. With a gambling addiction bringing my family to bankruptcy, my mom worked tirelessly to support me and my brother. All the meanwhile, I explored the world around me, reading hundreds of books and spending hundreds more hours watching science videos on YouTube. It was then that I discovered my passion for storytelling and the future that has underlined almost everything I have done in my life since.

At the start of middle school, I moved down to Charleston, South Carolina. At this time I started to get serious about writing and completed my first novel at 13, a young adult dystopian novel called Control Freakz. In high school, I got a job at a resort near my house and saved up every penny to publish my first book.

When I graduated high school a year early, I dedicated a year of my life to publishing novels, working on digital advertising, and writing over a million words. When COVID hit, I started vlogging my life at college, road-tripped the country and bought a school bus, started a media company with my friends, live-streamed for a Sean Parker tech start-up, Airtime, and founded one of my own that focused on creator discovery.

Returning to college, I studied History and Science with a focus in Neuroscience. Writing fiction again, I started working with technology start-ups in the publishing space. And after meeting Emilia Rose and Sean Patnode, we teamed up to start a subscription platform by fiction authors for fiction authors.

Now I am the CEO and co-founder of Ream and a junior in college. In the process, I wrote my first non-fiction book called Creator Economy for Authors: A Guide to the Future of Publishing. I’m endlessly grateful for the journey I’ve had in my life and can’t wait to keep creating things I’m passionate about for the people I love.
